Steamables

What is the deal with these?

Seriously!

I forgot to pick up frozen broccoli today at Samual's, so when I was at Wally's I figured I would run down the frozen aisle to get some. All they had were minuscule bags of frozen vegetables that you're supposed to steam in the microwave.

Now that's really cool that you can do that. There is even a video you can watch on the above website about "steaming technology". But seriously, you can just do it yourself. It's called watching the microwave so you don't overcook the vegetables. It's not rocket science folks. (And I know all about rocket science, people.)

So, how do you feel about it? Is it worth twice the money to you to not have to pay attention? Maybe it is. I'm wondering.

I guess I'm just irritated because thats all you can buy now. And it's all twice as expensive as just a regular bag of broccoli.

I didn't get any by the way.

Gee, I don't know. Look at that beautiful, graphically colorful packaging! That steam coming off on the website. The big bag from Samuel's is just this big bag full of broccoli. I mean which package would you rather eat... ?

Wait! Huh? I don't eat packages. Or stickers. Which tastes better -- the Dole, the Del Monte or the Chiquita banana? I mean they all have green/yellow packaging -- but that blue Chiquita sticker... makes no difference.

Bananas are bananas (if ripe) and the frozen broccoli from Sam's is pretty good stuff -- and costs a lot less.

And if you don't like frozen, assuming the last few days weather hasn't frozen your plants, fresh broccoli awaits in your garden.

Broccoli doesn't like me, so I stay away from it. But I agree..it's the fleecing of america, isn't it?
