Caught in the Act

Becky snagged a few tomatoes from the top of the piano where they are ripening today. She loved them!

Trunk or Treat

We had the Trunk or Treat was tonight at Church. The kids had a lot of fun, even though it was getting late. Zach loves being Superman.
Becky doesn't love wearing her doggie costume quite as much, but she got used to it.

I Wonder as I Wander

I'm wondering why I keep stepping on wet spots all over the house. I know it isn't because Becky is potty training. Her pants are dry. So what is it?

We Went Camping

Our tent sleeps 7. That was perfect for the 4 of us! There was actually room. But it still feels like you're sleeping on cement when you're sleeping in a big fancy tent.

We found out that our daughter is a tree hugger.

The weather was great and the aspens were beautiful. We had a lot of fun, and we really did get some sleep.

What's Cookin'?

Feeling a little domestic (for no one but myself unfortunately as Ryan is at work and the kids are in bed) I made a delicious dinner straight from the garden; except for the brown rice pasta and Hansen's soda.
I used two large tomatoes (Better Boy, I think) and some fresh basil from my patio to make spaghetti sauce (onions too...and salt. Those were from the store. But we don't have to get technical do we?). And I used some lovely carrots also from the garden. I'm full and happy.

Guest Post: Zach

Mom says if I can write my name I will get to go to kindergarten. I want to be a fireman. She says firemen go to kindergarten.

I wanted to show this to my grandmas and grandpas.

I Started Another Blog

In an attempt to keep track of all the gardening that has occurred, is occurring, and will occur, I have started a Garden Blog. If you care to know more of the details of the garden, click here.

The Count is In...

Here's what 163 various tomatoes look like sitting on my piano and hanging above it. I don't know the weight and I couldn't keep track of which was which because they were all growing together. But for my records the varieties are: Amana Orange, Crimson Beefsteak, Better Boy, Oregon Spring, and Cherokee Purple.

But here is what 200 Homestead tomatoes weighing 32 pounds looks like.
And here is what 182 heirloom Roma tomatoes weighing 20 pounds looks like.
In case you are wondering why they are green... there have been rumors in the east of a shadow growing, a snow storm to be exact. We'll be ripening the tomatoes inside. Then I will attempt my first canning project. With the help of my mother thankfully.

And just for fun, this is what an Amana Orange tomato looks like when it's fully ripened. Canning is to happen week after next. Let's hope it goes well.

The Zoo Was Free Today

The kids and I brought their Aunt Lisha and Uncle JR to the zoo today. We had lots of fun. There were tons of people there though. We were all pretty tired by the time we got home.

We did actually do more than just ride the carosel, that just happened to be were I got some good pictures today! And I don't know why this is underlined and turned into a hyperlink. Don't ask me, I just type here. :)

Shhh, Ryan Doesn't Know Yet

How do you get a picture of yourself when no one is around to take the picture for you? Use the bathroom mirror. I know, I'm weird. I left my arms in there just because it's funny. Looks like normal hair, but I actually cut 10 inches off! My head feels lighter. So now you can pretend you have seen me with my new hair. I'm sending the 10 inches to Locks of Love. I'll spare you from seeing the picture of that hair. I don't like hair once it has left my body, it's creepy, so once I get that ponytail in the mail I'll feel much better. Hope you are having a fantastic day!

Happy October

And Happy Birthday to Julie Andrews. I love this picture of her; isn't she beautiful?

I am so excited that fall is here. I love the sound of leaves blowing down the street or crunching under my feet (Didn't mean for that to rhyme, but I'll go with it).

I'd better get those Halloween costumes made!

Day 2 and the Coat is Still On

We enjoyed a relaxing day of bike riding and going to King Soopers. The high today was 80 degrees. Please take notice of the choice of footwear while riding a bike...in a coat.
++++++++++++++++

Becky loves to go to the park. These were actually from a few days ago at playgroup. She is getting pretty gutsy. Not really afraid of heights.

And what exactly is this guy trying to prove?
I chose not to park next to him, lest he drive over my car while backing out.
