Second Snow

I know it already snowed this winter, but this was the first time the kids got to go out and play in it

Thanksgiving

Last night we brined the turkey. Here was it's lovely bath.

Becky hung out and rocked her baby.

Zach made a turkey for decoration.

Ryan cooked and carved the turkey.

It was yummy, and oh, so juicy!
Zach prefers the drumstick!

Zach really liked the pie.
He ate two pieces. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hair and Makeup

This is why I don't have short hair. Blah!

This is what my hair would look like if I ever took it out of a ponytail and did something with it. (Pretty sure this is a lighter color too.) And apparently this is what my face would look like if I put on more color and maybe some eye liner. Looks a lot like the before picture I think. Now you know.

Legos and Babies

Zach was really excited because he used the "structions" and made a lego backhoe (this has been corrected because my husband informed me that I had labeled it incorrectly...it's a digger thingie) all by himself. At least there is one guy in this world who will use instructions. No two, he learned from his dad!
Becky loves her babies.

Happy, Happy Birthday Zachy Dear

We had Zach's Birthday dinner yesterday. We ate cake.

Played with balloons.

And sang birthday songs.

This morning the birthday boy was up at 5 thanks to his late bedtime yesterday. (Don't ask me why it's like that, it just is). I heard his new piggy bank talking and Elmo on the TV so I just left him alone and went back to sleep. When I got up at our usual 7am waking time I found this:
Zach took care of his birthday fruit snacks before Becky had a chance to want any. Happy Birthday Zach!

Random Thought

I don't think I've ever seen a blog by a mom with like 8 kids; and I'm doubting that one of those mom's will ever read this. The rest of us must not be to full capacity yet!

Anticipation

Zach is so excited about his Birthday next week. He keeps talking about how he is almost 4 years old; how excited he is that both grandmas and grandpas and all of his aunts and uncles are coming to his Birthday dinner; how he just wants to eat cake for dinner and maybe some squash (go figure); and how big he is.

This drawing is from a while ago, but I can't keep everything (at least not physically) so I took a picture before I chucked it. It is important because it is the first thing Zach drew that we could actually recognize as something. I think it was from July or August.

That Sure Was A Lot of Work

My Mother-in-law Terilynn and I slaved away in my kitchen for 3.5 hours tonight making salsa. This is what we got out of it! And yes, that is orange salsa on the right. We made two different batches (cooking simultaneously) so we could have some of the weird looking salsa for fun. Well, two jars later... If you feel like knowing more about the canning endeavors, check my other blog.
